CURTAIN MEASUREMENT
How do you measure your space for our beautifully crafted curtains?
Our BlindsBox way makes it easy for you!
All our curtains are made with 240% fullness, to give you the most luxurious look with the maximum amount of fabric. All you need to do is provide us with your width and drop measurements, and you are ready to order.
To get these measurements, you will need a few basic tools:
- A metal tape measure
- Somewhere to record your measurements
- A sturdy stepladder to get to a height if required
MEASURING THE WIDTH OF YOUR CURTAIN
Depending on the size of your window or door, and the space available on each side, you may choose to have your curtain from wall to wall, or only covering the window.
If your curtain will just cover the window, we suggest that you add 400mm to the window measurement to allow for the space required for the curtain stack.
If you would like your curtain to go from wall to wall, measure the distance between the walls and deduct 20mm to allow room for the track.
MEASURING THE DROP OF YOUR CURTAIN
Measuring Drop For Face Fit Curtains:
For face fit curtains, the track and brackets are mounted directly onto the wall. This is the recommended option if your home has cornices, as it allows your curtain to be closer to the window.
For this option, take your measurement from where you would like the top of the track to start, to the floor.
Measuring Drop For Ceiling Fit Curtains:
This is where your curtain track will be mounted to the ceiling. Simply measure from the ceiling to the floor.
CHOOSING YOUR CURTAIN DROP STYLE
We provide 3 options for you to decide how you want your curtain drop to be finished. No need to adjust your measurements; we will ensure your curtain fabric is tailored to achieve your desired finish.
Option 1: 10mm Clearance
Your curtain will hang just above the floor, allowing your curtains to move more freely and providing a neat and polished appearance.
Option 2: Touching the Floor
Your curtain will be installed so that it just touches the floor. This allows for optimal light control and gives your curtain a modern and sleek look.
Option 3: Puddled
Your curtain will be puddled on the floor, creating a cozy atmosphere while enhancing insulation.
